Looking back….

With just 6 days to go until the Reiki Ramble begins, I thought we’d have a nostalgic look back at the first practice walk at the coast.

It was early February, and my fantastic, supportive swim buddies, Lynn and Ang, offered to accompany me on a practice walk as they were unable to walk on the Ramble itself. So we duly hit Scarborough and took a bus up to Cloughton (pronounced “Clawton”) a few miles up the coast, in order to walk the last 4-5 miles of the Reiki Ramble”. The weather was NOT kind! See the video below…

It was blowing a hoolie, with occasional showers of rain/hail, and the ground was so muddy we had all on to stay upright! We even wondered if the crops beginning to grow were a type of cold climate rice, as the shoots were in standing water reminiscent of a paddy field…..

We were taunted by the distant view of Scarborough Castle, which never seemed to get any closer, and the constant noise of the wind and of the wild grey waves! So the haven of the pub was extremely welcome! Thank you to the legends that are Lynn and Ang for being such an important part of our efforts to help Val to get home as soon as possible.
